Since its establishment in the 1950s by the Kalla family, Amka has grown to employ a total of 1 000 people in four different manufacturing plants. Their 400 products, spanning 20 leading brands, are sold in 35 African countries. Amka consistently ranks amongst the top 10 empowerment companies in South Africa.
Amka focuses on three categories, namely hair care, personal care and home care. Some of the company’s most popular brands include Sofn’free, Revlon Realistic, Clere, Krayons, Playboy/Playgirl, Chemico and Thunder.
